About

What this site is

A running list of products from the 1980s and 1990s that are being made again, with the changes spelled out.

Why it exists

A lot of the hardware people grew up with is back on shelves. Some of it is a faithful rebuild. Some of it is a new product wearing an old shape. Some of it never actually stopped being made and simply became easy to find again. Those are three different things and product listings rarely tell you which one you are looking at.

Newstalgist sorts them out. Every entry gives you the original release year, the year the version on sale today arrived, and the concrete change that separates them.

How items get picked

Items get removed when they go out of production.

How the site pays for itself

Through affiliate links. When you use a link here to buy something on Amazon, we earn a small commission from Amazon. The price you pay is the same either way, and Amazon does not tell us who bought what.

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Full details are on the affiliate disclosure page.

Commission does not decide what gets listed. Nothing on this site is a paid placement, and no manufacturer pays to appear.
